Remove the basket and clean it periodically to keep the water flowing nicely through the skimmer. This piece has a 5.25" wide weir, ideal for skimming ponds up to 1,000 gallons. You may easily cut an opening in the front of the skimmer for a low water intake, or add a drain or additional discharge using a hole saw or jig saw.
