2" White: A standard in the pond industry. Included with many skimmers from the factory. Filters moderate to coarse particulates but does not catch fine materials. Allows good water flow but needs replaced semi-annually. Does not hold up well to cleaning. Best seller for OEM applications. Used in all Aquascape skimmers from the factory.
2" Black: Used by Aquascape in their Signature Series Biofalls. Same as the 2" white but is a thicker & heavier material, catching more debris and allowing for more bacterial surface area. Lasts longer than 2" white.
1" Green: Used in many low-end skimmers. Clogs frequently. Does not stand up to many cleanings.
Matala Gray: (very dense) for filtering super fine particles. Great for water polishing but will clog quickly (doing its job)! Matala filters last 3 years before showing wear!
Matala Blue: (dense) for filtering fine particles. Excellent 'step-up' for most skimmers. Matala filters last 3 years before showing wear!
Matala Green: (medium) great replacement for filters that came with the 2" white. BEST SELLER. Matala filters last 3 years before showing wear!
Matala Black: (coarse) for high water flows. Does not trap much, but excellent with big pumps. Matala filters last 3 years before showing wear!
